My Hammond 270 has two heaetr taps, one 5volt and one 6.3volt. Both my 6CA4 and 5687 data says 6.3volts for both. Can I use the 6.3volt tap for both tube heaters or can I use the 5ovlt tap for one of the tubes Thnaks Patrick.

Also, i was planning to use a relay to switch the heater connection... will the N00AW do as listed here on the maplin page Looks ok to me. I will then have it switching on only when on LPG, or ma I better having the heater on the hwole ...

Ok, well I have the 270BX and its only 2A. Let me ask this, the 5687 requires 0.9A and the 6CA4 requires 1.0A, will 2A cvoer it This is my first build, do I need a different power tran. or different rect. I wouldnt be too sure on how ...

Or pick a 5V rectifier ... It could possible be a good idea to lift the 6,3V to paprox 1/2 B.

You can use the 6.3V tap for both tubes, but you have to be sure hte current rating is adequate. If its is the 270HX you are probably OK. If its the 270BX, Im not so sure. The HX has a 6A rating on the 6.3v tap, and the BX is only ...
